Maternity sessions should feel like a relaxed breath, not a production. My studio is in Beekmantown, just outside Plattsburgh. It's private, and ready before you walk in. I also travel — at no extra charge within 45 minutes of the studio — which covers most of the North Country and the greater Burlington, VT area.

Whether you come to me or I come to you, the experience is the same: unhurried, guided from start to finish. You just show up.

Why North Country Families
Book Katie for Maternity

You are not supposed to have it all figured out.

Book your session

I travel at no extra charge within 45 minutes of the studio, covering Plattsburgh and most of the North Country. Outdoor sessions at Lake Champlain, local parks, wooded trails, or a location that means something to you. I also do in-home sessions for families who want something intimate and personal in their own space.

Bring your partner, your older kids, your dog. I will find the light wherever you are.

Outdoor or in-home. I come to you.

This shouldn't be hard.
LEt me help you feel comfortable.

Two ways to do this. Both are great.

The studio is in Beekmantown, NY, just outside Plattsburgh. Private space, natural light, professional strobes, and a full client closet with gowns for every body and every trimester. The studio is never rented out to other photographers. When you arrive, it has been cleaned, prepped, and made ready for you.

Off-street parking, a private bathroom, and a fridge stocked with water and juice. You walk in, take a breath, and we get started.

Come to the studio in Plattsburgh.

Option one

Option two

Book your session

Sessions run about 60 minutes, with time for outfit changes and short breaks whenever you need them. You do not need to know how to pose — I will walk you through everything from the moment you arrive. I tell you where to put your hands, how to stand so you feel comfortable and look natural, when to look at the camera, and when to just be in the moment.

The goal is to capture the way you actually hold your bump, the way your partner looks at you, the ordinary moments of this season that will feel anything but ordinary when you look back on them.

After your session, your gallery is ready within three weeks. You'll receive about forty images — with a mix of color and black & white edits — so that you have plenty of choices for announcements, home galleries, and sharing with friends and family.

Your session, your way.

The Studio

Private, prepped, and only ever yours.

Private bathroom. Off-street parking. A fridge stocked with water and juice. The space is quiet and tucked away from the busy streets. It does have three steps at the entrance — if that impacts your visit, just let me know when you book.

Everything is handled before you walk in.

The studio has two separate shooting spaces: a natural light room with soft white curtains and a fully equipped studio with professional strobe lighting and multiple backdrop options. One session can move between both, or stay exactly where it feels right.

Two spaces. Natural light and studio lighting.

The space is never rented out to other photographers. No one else has set up lights here or moved through with a different client. When you arrive, the studio has been cleaned, sanitized, and made ready for you and only you.

This studio is only ever yours.

Not into dresses? Jeans and a white shirt are a perfect option.

Get to know me

I'm a certified newborn photographer with specialized training in safe posing and handling. Every session, especially newborn, is approached with care, patience, and an eye for the details that make your family's story uniquely yours.

Trained, certified, and completely in your corner.

I know how easy it is to feel uncomfortable in front of a camera , especially during pregnancy, when your body is changing in ways that can feel unfamiliar.

My goal isn't to change how you look. It's to help you feel seen and supported in the season you're actually in. When a client tells me she almost didn't book the session, but is so grateful she did, that's the moment I know this work matters.

I know how it feels to talk yourself out of being photographed.

This work is personal to me.

Some seasons pass before you realize they have gone. The bump, the way the light falls, the way your partner looks at you in a quiet moment. These become the images you reach for ten years from now.

You will never once regret these photos.

1.

How you feel matters more than how you look.

Every session is calm, guided, and completely unhurried. You do not need to know what to do with your hands or how to pose. Just show up. I will walk you through everything from there.

2.

Every mother deserves to be in the frame.

Not someday. Not when you feel ready or when the timing is better. Right now, exactly as you are, because this is the version of you that you and your family should celebrate.

3.

Photography honors
the season you're in.

Based in Beekmantown, NY, I travel — at no extra charge — within 45 minutes of her studio, which covers most of the greater Burlington area. For communities a bit further out, I'm always happy to discuss a custom arrangement.

Serving expecting families across Clinton County and beyond

Photographing families where it's convenient for them.

Maternity sessions photograph best between 28 and 36 weeks, when the bump is full and round and you are still feeling comfortable and mobile. I recommend reaching out around 14 to 20 weeks to lock in your date. Spring and summer sessions fill up quickly, especially for outdoor locations near Lake Champlain.

1. Do I have to drive to your studio or do you come to Burlington?

6. How long until I see my photos after the session?

It depends on the locations and how much time you have. A one-hour session works well for either the studio or a single outdoor location, with time for two outfit changes. If you want to shoot both, reach out before booking and I can put together a plan that fits your timeline.

Yes. In-home sessions work really well for clients who want something personal and intimate in their own space. Your own light, your own surroundings, the nursery you have been putting together. I travel at no extra charge within 45 minutes of my  Beekmantown studio, which covers most of the Plattsburgh area and surrounding North Country communities.

The client closet is included with every studio session, so you do not need to bring anything if you do not want to. The closet has gowns and wraps in a range of styles, sizes, and colors, all washed and steamed before your session. If you prefer to bring your own outfits, aim for softer tones and a mix of something dressed up and something comfortable for variety in the gallery.

1. When is the best time to book a maternity session in Plattsburgh?

6. How long until I see my photos after the session?

Both. Katie travels to Burlington and throughout Chittenden County at no extra charge. Burlington is about 35 minutes from her Plattsburgh studio, well within her free travel radius. If you prefer a private studio session, you make the trip to Plattsburgh. Both options get you the same photographer and the same experience. The choice is entirely yours.

3. What Burlington or Vermont locations do you shoot at for outdoor sessions?

A lot of clients say yes. The Plattsburgh studio is private, which means it has never been rented out to other photographers. No strangers cycling through between sessions. Add the full client closet, natural light and professional strobe setup, private bathroom, and off-street parking, and it ends up feeling like a completely different experience from a shared rental space. That said, if you prefer to stay in Vermont, that works great too.

Pretty much wherever you love. The Burlington waterfront, Shelburne Farms, local parks, your backyard, a trail you walk every week. If it is meaningful to you, it photographs beautifully. During the booking process, Katie will help you pick a spot with good light and enough room to move around.

Yes. In-home sessions work really well for Burlington clients who want something personal and intimate. Your own space, your own light, your own feel. These sessions are especially popular with families who want to include older kids or pets in the photos.

 5. When should Burlington area clients book their maternity session?

The main thing is that the studio belongs to Katie. She does not rent it out to other photographers. That means you are the only client who has been in that space since the last time it was cleaned and prepped. The setup, the lighting, and the client closet are consistent every single time. No figuring out unfamiliar gear or working around someone else's equipment choices.
